Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
Christ is born!  Glorify Him!
I hope that your celebration of the Nativity has been peaceful and joyful.  Whether we call it Christmas or the Nativity, it is a time of great celebration, and is one that we have only begun.  Every year that delights me anew -- as everyone else stops celebrating we are just beginning.  Don't lose that sense of the wonder of this great Feast!
1.  The coming week:  On Saturday afternoon we will have our book study at 5 pm, followed by Great Vespers at 6:00 pm.  Sunday morning we will serve Divine Liturgy for the Holy Rigfhteous Ones: Joseph the Betrothed, David the King and James,. the brother of the Lord.  Despite it being New Years Day, we will serve small compline on Wednesday evening at 6:00 pm.  Later in the week, we start looking toward Theophany, with Royal Hours for Theophany being served at 9:00 am on Friday morning.
2.  I was very happy to deliver the very substantial contributions of food and toiletries from the parish to the Homeless Shelter on Christmas Eve.  Thank you for your generous contributions!
3.  If you wish to have your house blessed, as is traditional after Theophany, begin thinking about a date that would work for you.  Once you have that talk to me and we'll get it scheduled.
Enjoy the rest of the week, and I hope to see you all this weekend!
In Christ,
Fr. James
